“My name is Brittney and I was here (Children’s Village) from 2010 to 2013.
When I first got here I was very angry, but as the years went on, I started to become more happy and this place started to become my home, my actual home because I did not have one at the time.
During my time here I think you guys helped me a lot with self-control, of who I am as a person and how I think and how I act and how I respond to other people.
My favorite memory would be big holiday meals, like Thanksgiving meals or Christmas meals, cause we would all be together and we were like a family so it was pretty cool.
Living at Children’s Village, it’s very comforting, it’s not living here in fear; you are living here knowing that you are safe, and knowing there are people here who love you, and that it’s a home.”
